Supporting Marriages

Together with my wife, I volunteer in marriage support work as part of the Parempi avioliitto movement.

This is not therapy or private counseling.
It is organized volunteer work aimed at strengthening relationships through listening, dialogue, and shared growth.

We have been involved in this work for more than 25 years.

Over the years our roles have varied depending on the situation.
We have served as support couplessmall-group facilitators, and speakers at different relationship events and gatherings.

Even a good marriage can always become better.

Marriage support work is not only about crises.

Many couples seek help when their relationship is in difficulty.
But it is just as important to strengthen a relationship that is already working.

Even a good marriage can always become better.

Often small insights, better listening, and more open conversation can make a significant difference.

Presence and Listening

In supporting relationships, giving advice is rarely the most important thing.

Often what matters more is simply stopping, listening, and helping people look at their situation from a slightly new perspective.

Respect, openness, and responsibility are values that guide this work — the same values that guide the rest of my life.
