Who are these tours for?
These tours are for riders who value preparation, rhythm, and shared responsibility.
You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable riding long days and adapting to changing conditions.
If you are looking to push limits, ride fast, or “see how far we can go”, this is probably not the right fit.
How big are the groups?
I work with small groups.
In practice this usually means up to around a dozen riders, including myself.
For larger groups or longer and more demanding journeys, a co-guide is required to ensure safety, quality, and shared situational awareness.
How long are the riding days?
Riding days are planned so that riders arrive alert and capable, not exhausted.
Daily distances and riding hours vary depending on terrain, weather, surfaces, and the group.
The goal is not to maximize kilometers, but to maintain concentration throughout the day — including the final kilometers into the destination.
How long are the journeys?
Journeys can range from long weekends to multi-week tours. The longest journeys so far have lasted up to three weeks.
What kind of riding can I expect?
Routes are planned for variety and flow.
Depending on the day, riding may include:
- winding mountain roads
- quieter secondary roads
- main roads when longer distances need to be covered efficiently
- mixed surfaces: asphalt and gravel
- longer transitions, borders, ferries, and logistics
The balance between these elements varies from day to day and is always chosen to support safety, rhythm, and the overall journey.
Do I need a specific type of motorcycle?
Your motorcycle should be:
- technically sound and well maintained
- properly serviced before the tour
- equipped with tyres in good condition, suitable for the planned route
- comfortable for long days
If a tour focuses heavily on gravel or mixed terrain, this will be discussed in advance so that bike choice, tyres, and setup are appropriate.
I adapt my own bike choice accordingly to support safety and group flow.
Is this a fixed tour with a set itinerary?
No.
I do not offer a catalogue of predefined tours.
Each journey is planned specifically for the group, based on wishes, experience level, and expectations.
When guiding for larger organizations, I follow their predefined routes and bookings.
Do I ride solo or with the group?
I ride with the group and take responsibility for the whole journey — from the first briefing to the final stop.
On longer or more complex tours, guiding may be done together with a co-guide to better support the group.
How do you communicate while riding?
Matkoilla käytetään perinteisiä motoristien käsimerkkejä, jotka käydään yhdessä läpi ennen matkaa.
I use a helmet communication system to:
- stay connected with the group
- respond quickly if someone needs help
- coordinate stops or changes
I do not use it for entertainment.
Silence for myself — communication for others.
How do we know if this is a good fit?
Before committing to anything, we discuss the idea, expectations, and riding style. If it feels like a good match, we continue.
If not, it’s better to know early — calmly and without pressure.
